 VENTURA QUITS BUT DENIES QUITTING Minneapolis, MN - (GNS) - Jesse Ventura, the professional clown and loudmouth who vowed to save Minnesota from the political process, announced he would not run for re-election. "But this doesn't mean I'm quitting," he insisted. "It's the jackals," he declared, pointing a finger at the media. "They turned on me. It's so unfair." Ventura admitted but did not concede his popularity had declined, his government faces a huge deficit, and he was never able to unite the state legislature in order to achieve anything of substance. "It's the jackals. They turned on me. It's so unfair," he said. Ventura denied he was a clown but admitted his disdain for politics often made him seem clown-like in the political arena where grown-up decisions with real consequences are made. "It's the jackals. They turned on me. It's so unfair," he said. He said he no longer had the heart and soul to do the job, conceding that he never did have the brains or patience for it. "It's the jackals.
