NASH TO SOLVE MIDEAST CRISIS
Searches For Proper Equation
Cambridge, MA - (GNS)
- Nobel Prize winner John Nash agreed to search for a solution to the Mideast Crisis yesterday after successive phone calls from Ron Howard, President Bush, and Jennifer Connelly.
"I was talking with George Clooney and Whoopi Goldberg, and the idea just came up," said Howard.
Nash, known for his complex breakthrough game theory, said the Mideast was certainly a challenge.
"There's only a few blondes, and Ed Harris won't be around to help, but I think I can solve this thing," Nash said as he worked with colored chalk on a window.
As he worked, he took time to talk with students about his ideas.
"See, infinity is here, and one is here. There are an infinite number of problems, and there may be only one solution. Infinity does not equal one," he explained.
President Bush reportedly called Nash to urge the mathematician to help.
"He reminded me of Ed Harris," Nash said.
