JIMMY OLSON TO BE SOLICITOR GENERAL
Metropolis, NY - (GNS)
- "Ted? I meant Jimmy," declared a slightly bemused President Bush, when learning there was heated Senate opposition to the nomination of Ted Olson for Solicitor General.
"Hell, Ted lied through his teeth. That thing about having no involvement in the thing against Clinton in Arkansas. You can't send an outright liar to be the nation's lawyer at the Supreme Court," Bush said.
Jimmy Olson, former correspondent for the Daily Planet, said he was honored to be nominated.
"I think he wants me because I just don't lie," Olson said.
Bush Press Secretary Ali Oxenfree noted that this administration did not need a liar to go before the Supreme Court.
"We've pretty much got that locked," he said.
