JACKSON, CARTER FIGHT EACH OTHER TO FREE IDAHO KIDS Both Men Insist On Being Negotiator; Fistfight Breaks Out In Airport Bob Fontneau & Gilbert Hurricane Atlanta, GA - (GPS) - A shouting match elevated to fisticuffs as former president Jimmy Carter and former, uh, whatever-the-hell he used to be Jesse Jackson argued violently over who would have the opportunity to fly to Idaho to negotiate for the release of the remaining children in the standoff with officials. "The old administration always used me to negotiate difficult situations in foreign countries!" shouted Jackson. "For your information and with all due respect, Idaho is not a foreign country. And when I lust, at least I only do it in my heart", retorted Carter. At that point, Jackson allegedly fired a right hand which landed on Carter's chin. Carter returned an artful jab, jab, right cross combination, most of which appeared to be blocked as a surprising nimble Jackson utilized the old Ali rope-a-dope. Stunned onlookers watched as Secret Service agents then quickly separarted the two aging pugilists and neither man suffered major injuries. After the fight Jesse Jackson signed with Don King to fight for the heavyweight title, and Carter announced he would "build a new house for those kids." "Houses all around," he shouted. "It's on me." When asked after the fight if Carter had any idea where former president Clinton might be, he replied somewhat testily, "Why can't you people just forget about him? You certainly seem to have forgotten about me." Gerald Ford could not be reached for comment. |
