GORE WINS FLORIDA Surprise Write-In Campaign Defeats McBride, Bush Sumppump, FL - (GNS) - Former vice president and senator Al "Al" Gore won election today in Florida and will become the state's next Governor. Everyone was stunned. "We counted the votes, and there's no doubt about it," said Miscountia County Elections Supervisor Buddy "Lapdog" Irby. Republicans immediately charged that votes cast in 2000 but not counted were wrongfully counted in this election. "How can he be governor, he's not even from Florida?" asked one befuddled campaign worker. Sources close to the campaign said Jeb Bush was not originally from Florida either, and did not serve in the Florida Air National Guard. Gore said he would serve to the best of his ability, which, critics said, left him a defense against potential criticism. The U.S. Supreme Court could not be reached for comment. |
