SCIENTISTS, ENVIRONMENTALISTS TO STUDY ENDANGERED PENNY
Denver, CO - (GNS) - Scientists and environmentalists joined forces yesterday at the Federal Mint in Denver to announce their plans to study the endangered penny. "There is talk in Washington of eliminating the penny. We think it's appropriate, with that kind of talk, to place the penny on the endangered species list," said Dr. Abraham Lincoln Prystowski, Chairman of the Science Department at Pueblo Springs Community College. Concern for the future of the state of North Dakota was also expressed. "North Dakota is talking about changing it's name. We think that too makes it an endangered species," said Fargo Macy of the Boulder Sierra Club. |
