DAVIS THREATENS TO BLUSTER
Sacremento, CA - (GPS)
- California Governor Gray "Gray" Davis threatened to bluster again today about soaring energy prices and threatened rolling blackouts.
Aides confirmed that the governor may also flare out, grit his teeth, hold his breath, and stomp his feet.
"We'll be trying several approaches," said Bernie Tantrum, Davis's deputy in charge of nothing in particular.
Tantrum denied Davis was considering a hunger strike.
     "Get real," he said.
Davis declined to take other action. In a speech before the Sedentary Club of Fresno, Davis said, "Sure, I could have done more. I could do more. But I'm a moderate."
Bush officials in the Energy Department said Davis's blustering might work.
"Bush was stung by Jeffords switch. He's reaching out to moderates. We'll see," said Hugh Price, Undersecretary of Kilowatt Hours.
Davis's aides said he will be in San Diego later today to continue his Bluster Campaign.
